Description

RapcoHorizon NM1-25, 25-foot balanced XLR microphone cable

The RapcoHorizon NM1-25 is a finished 25-foot balanced microphone cable with a Neutrik 3-pin XLR female connector at one end and a Neutrik 3-pin XLR male connector at the other. Two 24-AWG copper conductors, a spiral copper shield and a flexible matte PVC jacket make it a practical connection for compatible microphones and balanced analog audio equipment.

Check connections and routing

For a typical microphone connection, the cable's female XLR end mates with the microphone's male XLR output, and the male cable end mates with the mixer, preamp or interface's female XLR input. Check both devices for compatible 3-pin XLR connections and signal requirements before ordering. Matching connector shapes alone do not establish electrical compatibility.

This cable carries one balanced mono analog audio signal, not a stereo pair. It is a microphone/interconnect cable, not a speaker cable or a purpose-specified digital AES/EBU or DMX cable. Allow enough length for the actual routing path, connector access and a little service slack, rather than measuring only the straight-line distance.

Construction and handling

The MIC1.K cable uses two 24-AWG bare copper center conductors and a bare annealed copper serve shield with listed 95% coverage. The flexible, low-memory matte PVC jacket helps with routing and coiling. Shielding supports noise control but cannot guarantee the elimination of hum or interference in every system.

The listed connectors are Neutrik NC3FXX and NC3MXX-style 3-pin XLR connectors with silver contacts. Grip the connector body when disconnecting rather than pulling on the cable, and release the XLR latch where applicable.
