Yellow Sumitomo Sumitube B2 is flexible, flame-retarded, radiation-crosslinked polyolefin tubing for wire identification, color coding, bundling and compatible electrical insulation applications. This is the nominal 3/8-inch size with a 2:1 shrink ratio.

Continuous-length ordering

Quantity 1 = 1 foot; quantity 10 = one continuous 10-foot piece. Cut sections to suit your assembly, allowing for longitudinal change.

Sizing and installation

Tubing must pass over the largest part before heating and recover sufficiently to grip the covered section. Measure the cable, joint or connector, not just wire gauge. The 2:1 ratio describes diameter recovery, not half the length. The original size description is 3/8 inch (10 mm); treat 3/8 inch as nominal, not an exact metric conversion. Confirm expanded and recovered inside-diameter limits if fit is critical.

Install before fitting connectors if necessary. Do not assume an adhesive-lined or watertight seal. Apply controlled, even heat following manufacturer instructions; check surrounding components' heat limits, avoid overheating, cool and inspect. The listed minimum shrink temperature is not a universal heat-tool setting. Tubing does not replace connector strain relief.
