Shure SM57 Dynamic Cardioid Instrument Microphone

Bring definition to your instruments

The Shure SM57 is a dynamic cardioid instrument microphone for stage and studio use. Its contoured frequency response and presence rise help bring definition to guitar amplifiers, snare drums, percussion and brass.

The directional pickup pattern helps reduce unwanted sound from the rear, while the pneumatic shock-mount system reduces handling noise. Durable construction makes it a practical choice for regular rehearsals, performances and recording sessions.

Find the sound with placement

Use the SM57 to capture amplified or acoustic instruments, then adjust its position to suit the sound you want. Aim it toward the desired source and away from unwanted sound. Its cardioid pattern helps with isolation, but microphone placement still matters when working around other instruments or stage monitors.
