Rolls PM59 Dual Personal Monitor Amp

Balance two XLR sources against your monitor feed.

The Rolls PM59 Dual Personal Monitor Amp combines one or two microphone or line-level XLR sources with a stereo or mono line-level monitor signal for headphone listening. Separate controls for each XLR channel and the monitor input let you build a local listening balance without changing the main mix at the console.

Bring the signals you need into your headphones

Use the PM59 to hear two microphones alongside a backing mix, or combine compatible line-level sources with a monitor feed during rehearsals, recording sessions, or performances. Configure each XLR input for the source's microphone or line level before use. A drummer can monitor an external click source, but the PM59 does not generate click tracks or record audio.

Keep both XLR sources connected onward

Each XLR channel has a mic/line pass-through output for routing that source to a suitable mixer, preamp, or other receiving input. These outputs carry their corresponding XLR sources, not the complete headphone mix. The local XLR level controls set your monitoring balance rather than acting as the main system's mix controls.

A ground lift is provided on the XLR1 through connection to help troubleshoot certain ground-loop problems. It does not guarantee noise-free operation. Follow the manufacturer's instructions and retain all protective AC safety earth connections.

Choose mono or stereo monitoring

The 1/4-inch monitor input accepts a suitable line-level feed, with a mono/stereo switch to match the source. Use the appropriate TS or TRS cable and follow the manufacturer's wiring instructions: TRS stereo and balanced mono signals use the connector differently. Do not connect a power amplifier's speaker output to this input.

One local mix, two headphone connector sizes

Both 1/4-inch and 3.5 mm headphone jacks are provided for suitable headphones rated at 8 ohms or greater. The two jacks do not establish independently adjustable mixes for two listeners. Start with the levels low and increase them gradually to a comfortable listening level.

An external power adapter is included. If a connected microphone requires phantom power, verify the supply and pass-through arrangement with the manufacturer's instructions and connected equipment; do not assume the PM59 generates it.
