Mogami W3161 bulk four-pair 110-ohm AES/EBU snake cable

Mogami W3161 combines four individually shielded pairs in a flexible, compact multicore cable for building compatible AES/EBU digital audio snakes. Numbered cores help identify each connection, while drain wires assist termination. This listing is for unterminated bulk cable, not a finished snake; connectors are not included.

Ordering by the foot

Quantity equals feet of the complete four-pair cable, supplied as one continuous piece. Quantity 25 provides one 25-foot continuous length, not 25 separate lengths of 1 foot each. Allow extra for routing, breakouts and connector preparation.

Compatibility and assembly

Confirm your equipment requires 110-ohm AES/EBU connections, and verify the connector type, pinout and pair mapping at both ends. Do not assume a multipin connector uses the same wiring on every device.

Plan the breakout and strain relief around the approximately 10.5 mm overall jacket and 3.2 mm individual core jackets. Choose connectors suitable for the individual conductors and core diameter. Follow the connector and equipment manufacturers' termination instructions, retain each pair's construction as far as practical, and label and test every completed connection for continuity, shorts and digital operation.

Check usable transmission distance with your connected equipment's manufacturer. The original cable specification lists a maximum available cable length of 305 m (1,000 ft); this is not a guaranteed AES/EBU transmission distance or a statement of current stock availability. Do not assume receiver equalization automatically extends the usable run.
