Round Recessed Backbox for 4" Speaker & Screw-Mount Grille
The recessed enclosure for use with a 4 inch driver and screw-mount grille features an extended flange, making it ideal for new construction where the flange protects the opening from plaster, poured concrete or sheetrock. It can also be used in existing construction when installed in suspended tile ceilings, in which case a tile bridge or channel rails are recommended.
Model CP4 backbox with extended grille mounting flange is designed for recessed installation of distributed 4" speaker systems. Extended flange makes it ideal for use in new construction where the flange protects the opening from plaster, poured concrete, or sheetrock. The backbox may also be used in new or existing construction when installed into suspended tile ceilings. Backbox is fabricated of welded, unitized heavy gauge US steel and is sufficiently undercoated to eliminate acoustic and metallic resonance. Each unit is furnished with four combination 1/2"-3/4" conduit knockouts. The grille mounting flange projects 0.5" for efficient installation in plaster, poured concrete, sheetrock, or suspended tile ceilings. Flange includes 8-32 screw retaining U-clips to accept 4" speaker grille model WB4 (order separately). When installed in a suspended tile ceiling, tile bridge model LBS4DX or SSseries channel rails are recommended to transfer assembly weight to the ceiling grid.
