Focused Dialogue with Natural Off-Axis Response

A precision RF-biased true condenser capsule and line tube deliver a tight, consistent, axially symmetrical pickup pattern. Uniform off-axis rejection helps isolate the intended sound while keeping off-axis coloration low. The line tube's full radial symmetry maintains consistent performance regardless of the microphone's rotational orientation, with minimal lobing across the frequency range.

The S1's broadly flat frequency response includes a slight upper-frequency lift for clear dialogue capture. Its electronics provide 10 dBA self-noise and a maximum sound pressure level of 130 dB SPL, accommodating quiet passages and louder sources.

Lightweight for Extended Boom Work

Built from aircraft aluminum alloy, the S1 measures 8.4 inches (215 mm) long and weighs just 2.7 oz (78 g). Its combination of strength and low weight makes it well suited to boom work, including use on extended poles. The 0.75-inch (19 mm) diameter accommodates a wide range of microphone suspensions and mounting options.
