Two Mono Paths or One Stereo Pair

Each TS connection carries one unbalanced mono signal. Connect both paths to carry the left and right sides of a stereo source, such as compatible keyboard, synthesizer, mixer, or audio-device outputs. For two unrelated mono signals, identify each path consistently at both ends. The cable does not combine the paths, duplicate one signal onto both, or convert mono to stereo.

Check Port Type and Signal Level

Confirm that the equipment supports the intended unbalanced TS connection and signal level. A 1/4" socket may be a line input, instrument input, headphone output, balanced connection, insert point, or speaker output; matching plug size alone does not establish compatibility. This assembly does not convert levels, provide impedance matching, or add transformer isolation.

This is not a single-plug TRS stereo cable, a balanced TRS-to-TRS cable, or a TRS insert breakout. A balanced or stereo TRS port may require a different cable or equipment-approved wiring. Do not use this audio interconnect between a power amplifier and passive speakers.

Plan the Main Run and Branch Reach

Measure the actual route between devices, including bends and service slack. Check how far apart the two jacks are at each end and allow enough separated lead length to reach them without pulling on the plugs. Confirm branch lengths, connector style, and how the finished length is measured with our custom cable specialists when the layout is critical.

Organize Channels and Labels

Label the two paths for left/right, channel numbers, or equipment names, keeping assignments consistent from end to end. Custom labeling and available finishing options can make setup and troubleshooting easier. Discuss connector color coding where available; do not rely on color alone to establish signal direction or wiring.

Routing and Noise Considerations

Keep unbalanced audio runs as short as practical for the setup and route them away from AC power wiring, transformers, and other interference sources. Cable choice alone does not eliminate ground loops or make a long unbalanced run equivalent to a balanced connection. If hum, noise, or a long route is a concern, ask about an appropriate balanced interface, direct box, or isolation solution for the equipment.

Handling and Testing

Lower monitoring levels or mute the affected channels before connecting or disconnecting. Handle plugs by their bodies, avoid sharp bends and crushing, and support the cable so the branches do not strain equipment sockets. Coil loosely for storage.

Test both paths with the intended equipment before a session or event. Check left/right or channel assignments, suitable levels, secure fit, and clean audio without hum, crackles, or intermittent connections. Recheck the routing after moving equipment.
