Description

Custom 8-Channel 1/4-Inch TS to TS Audio Snake with Mogami W2932

Organize eight compatible unbalanced audio connections in one finished cable assembly. Performance Audio builds this snake using Mogami W2932 cable and professional 1/4-inch TS connectors at both ends, helping keep studio, rack, and live-sound setups tidy without running eight separate main cables.

Built for Your Setup

  • Mogami W2932 8-channel audio snake cable.
  • 1/4-inch TS connections at both ends of all eight channels.
  • Professional connector options available through this listing.
  • Eight independent unbalanced mono audio paths, or four stereo pairs using two channels per pair.
  • Custom labeling and finishing options.
  • Custom made to order as a finished assembly, not unterminated bulk cable.
  • Lifetime warranty.

Eight Separate Unbalanced Connections

Each TS connection carries one unbalanced mono signal. Connect a stereo device using two channels, one for left and one for right; the eight paths can therefore serve four stereo pairs with compatible equipment. This snake does not mix channels, split a signal, or combine outputs.

This is the TS-to-TS format, not a per-channel mixed-connector or per-side preset listing. Review the available build options and choose the main length and finishing details that suit your setup. Contact our custom cable specialists before ordering if you need different connector formats, special wiring, or a mixed arrangement.

Match the Signal, Not Just the Plug

Confirm that each output and input supports an unbalanced TS connection and that their signal levels are compatible. A 1/4-inch socket can serve audio, headphones, inserts, speaker power, or control functions; matching plug sizes alone do not establish compatibility.

This snake does not turn unbalanced audio into balanced audio or provide transformer isolation, level conversion, microphone preamplification, or attenuation. If connecting a balanced output to an unbalanced input, check the equipment manufacturer's recommended wiring before ordering. Some output designs require a specific connection and should not have an output conductor grounded indiscriminately.

A TS plug is not a stereo headphone connection or a complete TRS insert send/return breakout. Do not assume this assembly is suitable for expression pedals, switching, control voltages, or other non-audio functions without confirming the equipment and wiring requirements.

Plan for Unbalanced Run Length

Keep unbalanced runs as short as practical, especially near power supplies, lighting equipment, and other interference sources. Mogami W2932 cable does not make a TS connection balanced or eliminate ground-loop noise. For longer routes or noisy environments, discuss a suitable balanced connection, direct box, buffer, or isolation solution for the equipment involved.

Passive guitars, basses, and other high-impedance sources can be sensitive to cable length and the complete signal chain. Do not assume a long multichannel snake will behave like a short dedicated instrument cable. Confirm suitability with our custom cable specialists, particularly when connecting passive instruments directly.

This listing is for analog signal connections, not speaker power, AC mains, or a guaranteed digital or DMX assembly. Do not connect a power amplifier's speaker output to a passive speaker through this snake. Keep phantom power away from incompatible unbalanced paths.

Plan Main Length and Breakout Reach

Measure the actual cable route with room for service slack, gentle bends, and equipment access. At both ends, measure from the breakout point to the farthest socket so each channel reaches without pulling on its connector. Confirm special breakout lengths or staggered reaches before the build is finalized.

Allow clearance around closely spaced or recessed jacks and enough space to grip the connector bodies. Route audio away from likely interference sources where practical, and avoid running long parallel sections beside power cables.

Channel Labels and Finishing

Map channels 1 through 8 to their equipment ports before ordering. Label both ends consistently with channel numbers, sources, destinations, or left/right assignments for stereo pairs. Discuss color coding by channel and available finishing options to make patching and troubleshooting easier.

Handling and Testing

Support the main cable and breakouts so equipment jacks do not carry the snake's weight. Avoid sharp bends, crushing, and tension where the individual channels leave the main jacket. Disconnect by the connector body rather than pulling on the cable.

Test all eight paths with the intended equipment before installation or a show. Check channel mapping, signal levels, stereo left/right assignments, and clean audio without hum, noise, tonal changes, or intermittent connections. Never join two active outputs together. If hum occurs, investigate the signal chain and use an appropriate audio isolation solution when needed; never defeat equipment safety grounds.

Customization Help

If the available options do not cover your needs, call or email Performance Audio's custom cable specialists. Provide your equipment models, port functions, signal levels, main cable length, breakout reach at each end, channel map, and labeling or finishing requests so we can confirm the build details. Confirm pricing and the build timeline before ordering if you have a deadline.
