Description

Custom 8-Channel 1/4-Inch TRS to TRS Audio Snake with Mogami W2932

Connect eight compatible balanced audio paths with one organized cable assembly. Performance Audio builds this snake using Mogami W2932 cable and professional 1/4-inch TRS connectors at both ends, helping keep studio, rack, and live-sound connections tidy without running eight separate main cables.

Built for Your Setup

  • Mogami W2932 8-channel audio snake cable.
  • 1/4-inch TRS connections at both ends of all eight channels.
  • Professional connector options available through this listing.
  • Eight independent audio paths, suitable for eight balanced mono connections or four stereo pairs with compatible equipment.
  • Custom labeling and finishing options.
  • Custom made to order as a finished assembly, not unterminated bulk cable.
  • Lifetime warranty.

Eight Balanced Mono Connections, Not Eight Stereo Breakouts

For balanced analog mono audio, each TRS connection carries one signal using tip, ring, and sleeve. A stereo source normally needs two channels, one for left and one for right, so this eight-channel snake can connect four stereo pairs when the equipment and wiring are compatible.

This is a TRS-to-TRS format, not a per-channel mixed-connector or per-side preset listing. Review the available build options and choose the main length and finishing details that suit your setup. If you need different connector formats, special wiring, or a mixed arrangement, contact our custom cable specialists before ordering.

Confirm What Each TRS Port Does

A 1/4-inch TRS socket may carry balanced mono audio, unbalanced stereo headphones, or an insert send and return. Matching plug shapes do not establish compatibility. Check the equipment manuals for each port's function, wiring, and signal level before connecting.

This snake does not break a stereo TRS signal into separate left and right plugs, provide an insert Y connection, or convert balanced audio into stereo. Any headphone, insert, or other nonstandard application requires confirmation of the complete connection and equipment requirements before ordering.

Use compatible outputs and inputs with appropriate levels. The assembly does not provide microphone preamplification, line-to-mic attenuation, transformer isolation, or conversion from an unbalanced signal to a balanced signal. If a device uses an unbalanced jack, confirm the manufacturer's recommended wiring rather than assuming a TRS plug makes that connection balanced.

This is an analog audio snake, not a speaker-power cable or a guaranteed AES/EBU digital or DMX assembly. Do not use it between a power amplifier's speaker output and a passive speaker. For any phantom-powered application, confirm that the wiring and equipment are suitable, and avoid inserting or removing TRS plugs while phantom power is active.

Plan Main Length and Breakout Reach

Measure the actual cable route with room for service slack, gentle bends, and equipment access. At each end, measure from the breakout point to the farthest socket so every channel reaches without tension. Confirm special breakout lengths or staggered reaches with our custom cable specialists before the build is finalized.

Allow clearance around closely spaced or recessed jacks and enough space to grip the connector bodies. Suitable run length depends on the source, destination, signal level, balanced or unbalanced operation, and installation environment. A long run that works for a balanced line-level connection may not suit an unbalanced or high-impedance source.

Channel Labels and Finishing

Map channels 1 through 8 to their equipment ports before ordering. Label both ends consistently with channel numbers, sources, destinations, or left/right assignments for stereo pairs. Discuss color coding by channel and available finishing options to simplify patching and troubleshooting.

Handling and Testing

Support the main cable and breakouts so the equipment jacks do not carry the snake's weight. Avoid sharp bends, crushing, and tension where the individual channels leave the main jacket. Disconnect by the connector body rather than pulling on the cable.

Test all eight paths with the intended equipment before installation or a show. Check channel mapping, correct levels, stereo left/right assignments, and clean audio without hum, noise, or intermittent connections. Never join two active outputs together.

Customization Help

If the available options do not cover your needs, call or email Performance Audio's custom cable specialists. Provide your equipment models, port functions, signal levels, main cable length, breakout reach at each end, channel map, and labeling or finishing requests so we can confirm the build details. Confirm pricing and the build timeline before ordering if you have a deadline.
