Match the Cable to Your Equipment

Connect a pair of compatible RCA line outputs to suitable RCA line inputs on equipment such as playback devices, mixers, recorders, and amplifiers with line-level inputs. For a stereo pair, assign one cable channel to the left signal and the other to the right, matching each output to its intended input. Each RCA connection carries one unbalanced mono signal.

Confirm the signal levels and input types supported by your equipment. This cable does not convert signal levels, balance an unbalanced connection, or provide isolation. Do not connect line-level outputs to phono inputs intended for turntable cartridges; the cable does not provide phono preamplification or equalization.

This snake keeps the two signal paths separate. It is not a stereo-to-mono summing cable or a Y-cable, and it does not mix or split signals. RCA connectors are also used for other signal formats, so do not assume compatibility with coaxial S/PDIF digital audio or video solely because the connectors fit. This assembly is intended for analog audio, not as a specified 75-ohm digital coaxial cable.

This is an audio signal cable, not a speaker cable. Never use it between a power amplifier's speaker outputs and passive speakers.

Plan Your Cable Route and Breakout Reach

Measure the complete routing path, allowing room for bends, service slack, and access behind equipment. Keep unbalanced runs as short as practical and route away from power supplies and AC cabling where possible to help reduce noise pickup.

Check the breakout reach needed at both ends so each channel connects without strain. Allow clearance around recessed or closely spaced RCA jacks, and confirm any special breakout-length or wiring requirements with our custom cable specialists before the build.

Custom Labels and Channel Identification

Label channels by number, left and right, equipment, or destination to make patching and troubleshooting easier. Ask about channel color-coding options and provide your preferred label text and channel assignments when discussing the configuration. Keep a record of which source connects to each destination.

Installation and Handling

Support the main cable and breakouts so equipment sockets do not carry the cable's weight. Leave enough access for connection and removal, avoid tight bends or pinching, and disconnect by the connector body rather than pulling on the cable. Check both channels' routing and operation before putting the system into service.
