Match the Cable to Your Equipment

Connect two compatible balanced line-level outputs to two suitable balanced inputs on equipment such as audio interfaces, mixers, outboard processors, and powered studio monitors. For a stereo line-level connection, use one cable channel for the left signal and the other for the right, matching each output to its intended input.

Each TRS connector carries one balanced mono signal in this application, not separate left and right stereo channels. A 1/4" TRS socket may instead be wired for headphones or an insert, so confirm the function and signal requirements of your equipment before ordering. This snake is not an insert breakout or a headphone splitter.

Balanced operation depends on the wiring and equipment at both ends. The cable does not balance an unbalanced source, mix signals, or convert signal levels. Do not assume suitability for digital audio, network or control signals, or speaker-level power solely because the connectors fit. Never use this snake between a power amplifier's speaker outputs and passive speakers.

Plan Your Cable Route and Breakout Reach

Measure the complete routing path, allowing room for bends, service slack, and access behind equipment. Check the breakout reach needed at each end so both channels connect without pulling on the connectors, and allow clearance around recessed or closely spaced TRS jacks. Confirm any special breakout-length or wiring requirements with our custom cable specialists before the build.

Custom Labels and Channel Identification

Label the channels by number, left and right, connected equipment, or destination to make patching and troubleshooting easier. Ask about channel color-coding options and provide your preferred label text and channel assignments when discussing the configuration. Keep a record of which source connects to each destination.

Installation and Handling

Support the main cable and breakouts so equipment sockets do not carry the cable's weight. Leave enough access for connection and removal, avoid tight bends or pinching, and disconnect by the connector body rather than pulling on the cable. Check both channels' routing and operation before putting the system into service.
