Match the Cable to Your Equipment

Use a mono Y-cable to split one suitable output to two compatible inputs, such as feeding a mono line-level source to two input destinations. Check the source's ability to drive both input loads; a passive Y-cable provides no buffering or isolation. For passive guitar pickups or setups with hum or loading concerns, an appropriate buffered or isolated splitter may be a better choice.

Splitting is not the same as combining. Do not use this cable to directly join two active outputs into one input. Combining outputs requires an appropriate mixer, summing network, or a device connection specifically approved by the equipment manufacturer.

This is a mono TS Y-cable, not a stereo breakout or a TRS insert cable. It does not separate left and right channels or provide independent send and return connections. It is not a balanced audio cable or a speaker cable; never connect it between a power amplifier's speaker output and passive speakers.

Plan Your Custom Build

Measure the actual route from the source to the split point and from that point to each destination. Allow enough branch length for equipment spacing, bends, and access without placing strain on the connectors. Check jack orientation and clearance around recessed or closely spaced connections.
