Description

Flexible 75-ohm coax for custom video cables

Canare LV-61S Yellow is a flexible, single-channel 75-ohm RG59B/U-equivalent coaxial cable with a stranded 24 AWG bare copper center conductor, polyethylene dielectric, and greater than 95% copper braid coverage. Its 6.1 mm PVC jacket suits custom video patch leads and equipment interconnects where flexibility and easy cable identification matter.

Ordering by the foot

Sold by the foot and shipped in a continuous length. Quantity 25 means one 25-foot piece. This is unterminated bulk cable; connectors are not included. Allow extra length for routing and termination.

Match the cable to the signal

Use appropriate 75-ohm connectors for compatible video and other 75-ohm coaxial connections. Confirm the equipment's signal format, frequency, cable requirements, and permitted run length. A 75-ohm impedance specification alone does not establish suitability for every SDI format or transmission distance.

LV-61S can also be used for suitable unbalanced audio or instrument assemblies when properly terminated. Its listed capacitance is 21 pF/ft (67 pF/m); total cable capacitance increases with length. It does not increase pickup sensitivity, and connector plating alone does not guarantee better sound. This single-center-conductor coax is not a substitute for two-conductor balanced microphone cable or speaker cable.

Connector fit and assembly

Select connectors explicitly compatible with LV-61S or its complete construction: 6.1 mm jacket, 3.6 mm dielectric, and 0.6 mm stranded center conductor. Jacket diameter alone does not establish fit. For crimp connectors, use the specified strip dimensions, ferrule, contact, tooling, and die sizes. Secure the jacket with the intended strain relief, keep braid strands clear of the center contact, and test the finished cable before use.
