AlphaTheta SLAB Hardware Controller for Serato Studio

Turn sample ideas into hands-on performances with the AlphaTheta SLAB. Designed for Serato Studio, this compact MIDI controller brings sampling, sequencing, stem adjustments, and effects control to a tactile surface with 16 Performance Pads, four touch-sensitive encoders, and an expressive LED touch strip.

Chop a loop, tap out a beat, then shape individual stems without breaking your flow. SLAB puts core production tools within reach, with an OLED display that keeps assignments and parameter values easy to check.

At a Glance

• 16 expressive Performance Pads: Multicolor lighting, velocity sensitivity, and aftertouch.
• Four touch-sensitive encoders: Hands-on access to EQ, stems, effects, and other parameters.
• Stems Level control: Adjust vocals, melody, drums, and bass individually in compatible Serato software.
• 5.1-inch LED touch strip: Control filter, pitch, FX level, swing, and other parameters with RGB feedback.
• Focus Control: Adjust supported on-screen plugin parameters with the multifunction dial, without manual MIDI mapping.
• Compact format: A footprint smaller than A4 or US Letter paper, with a two-tone gray finish.

Built Around the Serato Studio Workflow

Dedicated transport controls bring play, record, and seek functions together, while the multifunction dial speeds up browsing and navigating sampled audio. The application control section provides quick access to tools such as Auto Set and Favorite for capturing and organizing material.

Serato Studio unlock: Connecting SLAB unlocks the full version of Serato Studio for use with the controller.

Play Samples and Layer Effects

The 16 responsive pads support velocity and aftertouch for expressive beat-making and performance. Four dedicated buttons above the pads let you switch pad modes quickly.

In Pad FX mode, four effect types are arranged vertically across the pads, with up to four effects layered at once. Hear changes as you play and work effects into the production process rather than leaving them until the end.

See Your Assignments Before You Turn

Touch an encoder without turning it to see its current assignment on the OLED display. Real-time parameter values and integration status help you stay oriented while adjusting sounds.

Focus Control extends that hands-on approach to third-party instruments and effects: position your mouse pointer over a parameter on your computer screen, then use SLAB's dial to adjust it without manually assigning a MIDI control.

Shape Individual Stems

Use the four encoders to fine-tune individual stem levels in compatible Serato Studio, Serato Sample, and Serato DJ Pro workflows. Balance vocals, melody, drums, and bass directly from the hardware for remixing, production, or performance.

The long-stroke touch strip adds another expressive control surface, pairing smooth movement with visible RGB indicators for quick parameter changes.

Move Between Production and Performance

Alongside its dedicated Serato Studio integration, SLAB supports Serato Sample and serves as an Official Serato Accessory for Serato DJ Pro. General-purpose MIDI mode also allows use with other compatible DAWs and applications.

The compact body fits into home studios, mobile production setups, and performance spaces. Its two-tone layout visually groups functions, while circular PLAY/REC buttons and an illumination bar inspired by Serato sample clips provide familiar visual cues.

Included Cable

A matching gray USB-C cable is included, with straight and L-shaped connectors for flexible cable routing in tight setups.
