5100 Outdoor Cover
When using the DPA 5100 outdoors, it is recommendable to apply the supplied Outdoor Cover. This foam cover protects the unit against rain and reduces wind noise. Since the material is soft foam, it absorbs water and prevents it from damaging the microphone. Water will run down and drip off at the soft band beneath the cover. When fully absorbed by water, it is easy to wring out the Outdoor Cover by hand. Furthermore, the foam cover prevents rain drops from creating a "drumming" noise on the microphone.
For extreme windy conditions, use the optional Windjammer WJ5100.
