The Rolls PM60 combines a microphone preamp, headphone amplifier, and two-source mixing capability in an all-steel enclosure. Blend your microphone with a suitable line-level monitor feed for local listening, or use the preamp and monitoring functions as part of a recording setup without adding a full mixing console.

Hear your microphone alongside the backing mix

Connect a compatible microphone to the XLR input and a suitable monitor source to the 1/4-inch or 3.5 mm line input connection. Individual level controls let you balance the sources for rehearsals, spoken-word recording, or monitoring a boom microphone alongside other audio.

The monitor input supports mono or stereo operation. Follow the manufacturer's configuration and wiring instructions: a TRS stereo connection is not wired like a balanced mono signal. Use line-level sources, not a power amplifier's speaker output.

A microphone preamp, not just a pass-through monitor

The built-in microphone preamp provides a listed 48 dB of gain on the XLR path. Phantom power is also provided for compatible microphones, but check the PM60's phantom voltage and available current against your microphone's requirements before use. Do not assume every phantom-powered microphone is compatible.

The PM60 can also serve as a two-source mixer feeding a suitable line-level destination through its 1/4-inch or 3.5 mm output connection. Match the output configuration, cable wiring, and receiving input to the application. For a computer or camera, confirm analog input compatibility; a matching connector alone is not enough. The PM60 does not provide USB conversion or record audio by itself.

Monitor locally in either headphone size

Headphone connections are available in 1/4-inch and 3.5 mm sizes. These do not establish two independently adjustable mixes. Begin with low levels and increase them gradually to a comfortable listening volume. Local monitoring also does not confirm the signal level or quality being captured by an external recorder.

Compact construction and included power

Made in the USA, the PM60 uses an all-steel chassis and includes a Rolls PS27s power supply. A ground lift on the XLR microphone connection can help troubleshoot certain ground-loop problems, but does not guarantee freedom from hum. Follow the manufacturer's instructions and retain protective AC safety earth connections.
