Rolls DB24 Stereo Direct Interface

Connect stereo playback to a balanced audio system.

The Rolls DB24 is a two-channel passive direct interface for connecting unbalanced audio equipment to balanced inputs. Rolls audio transformers provide isolation and impedance matching, while separate balanced XLR outputs let you keep left and right channels separate for stereo playback.

Input options for your playback equipment

Stereo RCA, 1/8-inch (3.5 mm) stereo, and dual 1/4-inch inputs accommodate compatible players, computers, and other analog sources. Connect the appropriate source output to the DB24, then run its XLR outputs to compatible mixer or audio-system inputs.

Adjust each channel independently

Individual variable attenuators let you reduce the level of each channel to suit the receiving equipment. A Stereo/Dual Mono switch provides operating options for different setups. As a passive interface, the DB24 does not add active gain.

Transformer isolation without a power supply

The DB24 requires no external power, keeping setup straightforward when you're connecting playback equipment for a presentation, rehearsal, or live event. Each channel has a ground-lift switch that can help reduce hum associated with ground loops. Ground lift is a troubleshooting option, not a guarantee against every source of noise.
