The Black Neutrik NE8MXR-B-TOP is an etherCON TOP male cable-connector carrier with a retractable diecast shell and chuck-type strain relief. It is designed for assembling non-preassembled RJ45 cables with a 5.5–8.0 mm outside diameter. This listing is for the carrier, not a complete Ethernet cable.

An RJ45 plug is not included. You must supply a compatible RJ45 plug and cable and assemble them according to Neutrik's instructions. This model is not intended as a retrofit carrier for an already assembled cable.

Check plug and receptacle compatibility

The retractable shell allows the assembled RJ45 plug to connect to common standard RJ45 receptacles without removing and potentially losing the carrier shell. Check the RJ45 plug against Neutrik's compatibility list and confirm clearance around the equipment's socket; do not assume every plug or recessed receptacle will fit.

Does not intermate with Neutrik NE8FDY-C6 or NE8FDY-C6-B CAT6 receptacles. Verify the exact etherCON receptacle model before ordering. The carrier does not by itself establish the finished cable's Ethernet category or performance.

When IP65 protection applies

The listed IP65 protection applies when correctly mated with compatible Neutrik etherCON TOP receptacles, or when the SCMX-TOP sealing cap is properly closed. Do not assume an exposed, unmated connection or a connection to an ordinary RJ45 socket provides the same protection. Follow Neutrik's assembly and sealing instructions.

UV-resistant F2-certified materials and corrosion-resistant plating support outdoor applications within the product's ratings. These features do not make every installation or mating combination weatherproof.

Assembly and cable retention

Check the cable's 5.5–8.0 mm jacket diameter and the RJ45 plug's compatibility before assembly. Prepare and terminate the cable and plug using their manufacturers' instructions, assemble the carrier and strain relief, and test the completed cable before use. The diecast shell is designed to help protect fragile RJ45 components, while the chuck-type strain relief supports the cable.
