Description

Custom 50-Ohm BNC Antenna Cable with West Penn 812

Position your antenna where your system needs it, with a cable built to suit the route. Performance Audio custom builds this antenna cable using West Penn 812 RG58/U 50-ohm coaxial cable and West Penn BNC connectors for compatible RF antenna connections.

Built for Your Antenna Setup

  • West Penn 812 RG58/U 50-ohm coaxial cable.
  • West Penn BNC connectors.
  • Custom-built finished assembly, not unterminated bulk coax.
  • Available in black only.
  • Custom labeling and finishing options.
  • Lifetime warranty.

Confirm RF and Connector Compatibility

Match the complete connection to your equipment's requirements, including 50-ohm impedance, operating frequency, connector type, and connector gender. Suitable applications depend on the antenna and connected receiver, transmitter, or antenna-distribution equipment. Provide your equipment models if you need help confirming the build.

BNC connector fit alone does not establish compatibility. This 50-ohm antenna assembly is not a substitute for a specified 75-ohm SDI, video, or word-clock cable. It does not convert signal formats or impedance, amplify RF, or replace antenna-distribution equipment.

Choose Length with Signal Loss in Mind

Measure the full routing path with enough room for bends, service slack, and equipment access, while avoiding unnecessary excess cable. Coaxial cable loss depends on operating frequency and run length, and connectors, adapters, and other components also affect the complete RF path. Do not assume a universal maximum distance or loss-free extension.

For wireless microphone or in-ear monitoring systems, check the equipment manufacturer's antenna-cable guidance and loss budget before choosing a length. For longer runs or higher-frequency applications, ask our custom cable specialists whether a different cable construction would better suit the system. The cable alone does not guarantee reception quality or wireless range.

Active Antennas and Transmit Applications

If the connection supplies DC bias to an active antenna or inline device, confirm compatibility throughout the complete cable path, including any adapters or distribution equipment. This assembly does not generate bias power or provide voltage regulation.

For a transmitter connection, provide the operating frequency, RF power, cable length, and equipment requirements so suitability can be confirmed before ordering. Do not infer a power rating from the BNC connector or 50-ohm designation alone. Follow the equipment manufacturer's power-off and connection procedures.

Routing and Connector Access

Check clearance around recessed or closely spaced BNC sockets and allow access to engage and release the locking connection. Support the cable so its weight does not pull on equipment sockets. Avoid sharp bends, crushing, pinching, or tension at the connectors, and follow the cable manufacturer's bend-radius requirements.

Do not assume that the assembly is weatherproof or suitable for permanent outdoor installation. Discuss exposure, installation conditions, and any required protection with our custom cable specialists before the build.

Labels, Finishing, and Testing

Ask about custom labels for antenna positions, equipment destinations, or diversity A/B paths, along with available finishing options. Keep source and destination assignments clear when routing multiple antenna lines.

Disconnect by the connector body after releasing the BNC locking connection rather than pulling on the cable. Check the complete system after installation, including adapters, antenna placement, distribution settings, and RF performance at the intended operating frequencies.

Customization Help

If the website's configuration options do not cover your needs, call or email Performance Audio's custom cable specialists. Provide your equipment and antenna models, operating frequency, required connector genders, cable length, installation conditions, and labeling or finishing requests. Include RF power and DC-bias requirements where applicable so we can confirm the build details. Confirm pricing and the build timeline before ordering if you have a deadline.
