Plan Your Configuration Before Ordering

Identify the source and destination for each of the two channels. Select the available XLR or 1/4" TRS connections to match your equipment, including the correct male or female XLR connector where applicable. Check the actual sockets and signal requirements at both ends rather than relying on connector appearance alone. Confirm any special pinout or wiring requirements with our custom cable specialists before the build.

Measure the complete routing path, allowing room for bends, service slack, and access behind equipment. Consider the breakout reach needed at each end so both channels connect without pulling on the connectors. Confirm any special breakout-length requirements before ordering.

The finished connector arrangement and length depend on your selected configuration. Do not assume a particular connector combination or cable length from the product name alone.

Channel Mapping and Compatibility

Use the two channels for compatible analog audio connections, such as routing a pair of balanced mono line-level signals between suitable equipment. XLR options can also serve compatible microphone connections when configured appropriately. Confirm signal levels and input types with your equipment documentation; changing connector types does not convert microphone level to line level.

For balanced mono audio, each 1/4" TRS connection carries one balanced signal, not separate left and right stereo channels. A TRS socket may instead be wired for headphones or an insert, so confirm its function before ordering. Whether a connection remains balanced depends on the wiring and equipment at both ends.

This snake carries separate signal paths; it does not mix, split, or convert audio signals. Do not assume suitability for AES/EBU digital audio, network or control signals, or speaker-level power solely because the connectors fit. Check your equipment's requirements and choose a cable designed for the intended application.

Custom Labels and Channel Identification

Make the two-channel setup easier to patch and troubleshoot with labels identifying channel numbers, equipment, or destinations. Ask about channel color-coding options and provide your preferred label text and channel assignments when discussing the configuration.

Installation and Handling

Support the main cable and breakouts so equipment sockets do not carry the cable's weight. Leave enough access for connection and removal, avoid tight bends or pinching, and disconnect by the connector body rather than pulling on the cable.
