AES-256 Real-Time Hardware Encryption with NIST and FIPS Validated Cryptographic Modules
Designed and engineered in the United States to satisfy the requirements of demanding security concerned professionals; the Hawker can support a solid-state drive "SSD" or a fast SATA high-capacity 2.5" hard drive. Hawker can be easily moved from one computer to another using the provided carrying case. Hawker is compatible with both Windows and Macintosh environments without any software installations.
The Hawker external hard drives deliver extraordinary performance, rapid file transfer speeds (up to 5,000 Mbits/s), and proven reliability for both Mac and PC users. And because it provides up to 1TB in single hard drive, one of the first of its kind, this device is one of the most, if not the most, versatile portable external drives in the world.
The Hawker LX is made with aircraft-grade aluminum, making this enclosure both ruggedized and durable. An exclusive shock-absorbing mechanism (patent pending) is built into the enclosure. Its function is to keep the hard drive suspended within the casing while dissipating the heat produced by the hard drive. The Hawker is designed this way to allow peak performance while operating at an optimal temperature.
The bus-power feature offers the user added convenience by eliminating the need to carry nonstandard and sometimes hefty adaptors and cables that are normally required to power typical hard drives.
FIPS InsideOne of the most secure and cutting-edge hardware-based encryption chipsets is integrated into the internal circuitry of the Hawker lines. The cryptographic encryption module contains features such as Advanced Encryption Standard Algorithm AES-256 bit key strength, and real-time encryption so that there is virtually zero time in encrypting and decrypting the data. While in either CBC or ECB modes, the encryption chipset bears certifications from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and FIPS Level 2 for a Cryptographic Module. The Hawker is authenticated by a digital key token, which is inserted for authentication, and removed soon after the device is authenticated, and then ready for secure data transfer.
Rocsecure's line of encrypted drives offers the technologies you need to keep your data secure and safe.
Hawker Ruggedized Portable Enclosure Design
How Does the Hawker 2.5" Enclosure Design Help Protect Your Hard Drive?
The safety-centric mechanical design of Hawker series 2.5" enclosures provides critical hardware protection features, including:
Secure Shock-Absorbent Mechanism
The full-length bridgeboard provides additional protection by supporting the entire length of the hard drive. A strong aluminum rim holds the hard drive chassis firmly in place, eliminating stress on the bridgeboard and preventing damage due to impact or violent movement.
The shock-absorbent dampers strip between the bridgeboard and chassis offers additional resistance against accidental drops and bumps. The disposition of the hard drive and housing profile form an anti-shock chamber to cushion the blow of potential impacts.
Thermal Protection and Load-Bearing Case
The precision density of the rugged aluminum aircraft-grade border provides excellent heat dissipation and is strong enough to bear external weight.
Patent in progress.
Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) is a specification for the encryption of electronic data. It has been adopted by the U.S. government and is now used worldwide. It supersedes DES. The algorithm described by AES is a symmetric-key algorithm, meaning the same key is used for both encrypting and decrypting the data.
In the United States, AES was announced by National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) as U.S. FIPS PUB 197 (FIPS 197) on November 26, 2001 after a five-year standardization process in which fifteen competing designs were presented and evaluated before it was selected as the most suitable (see Advanced Encryption Standard process for more details). It became effective as a Federal government standard on May 26, 2002 after approval by the Secretary of Commerce. It is available in many different encryption packages. AES is the first publicly accessible and open cipher approved by the National Security Agency (NSA) for top secret information.
One of the most secure and cutting-edge hardware-based encryption chipsets is integrated into the internal circuitry of the Amphibious lines. The chipset contains features such as Advanced Encryption Standard Algorithm AES-256 bit key strength, and real-time encryption so that there is virtually zero time in encrypting and decrypting the data. While in either CBC or ECB modes, the encryption chipset bears certifications from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and FIPS Level 2 for a Cryptographic Module. The Amphibious is authenticated by a digital key token, which is inserted for authentication, and removed soon after the device is authenticated, and then ready for secure data transfer.
