The Pocket Sound Booth Oval reduces ambient sound received by a microphone; placing special high acoustic loss materials and structures between unwanted sound sources and your microphone. Basically, it alters and tightens the polar pattern of a microphone while making minimal changes to the near field on axis response.

The PSB - Oval fits over your side-address studio microphone or axial (hand held) microphone and doesn't require any expensive hardware to do its job. Other products such as reflection filters cost around ten times as much as the Pocket Sound Booth and they block less than half of the ambient sound that the Pocket Sound Booth Oval does.

A detachable highly effective pop filter/wind screen is also included.

The Pocket Sound Booth Oval uses tuned high loss acoustic resistance for maximum performance. Traditional acoustic foam will not perform the same function in the same confines and would take huge quantities to be effective.

The Pocket Sound Booth - Oval system supports microphones of all polar patterns, some square type microphones are supported and other types can be fitted to with a few minor adjustments. The model PSB- Oval is 4" x 6" X 6.5". Voiceovers with a ribbon microphone and a Pocket Sound Booth Oval... big, smooth, silky and quiet! With some adjustments the PSB - Oval is extendable for shotgun microphones with a few common household items or can be modified to hold some small audio recorders. If held by the exterior foam the PSB - Oval can also act as a shock mount.

The new PSB - Oval can be placed on individual sm57 style drum microphones lowering high frequency bleed from symbols and helping to protect the microphones from being directly hit. Anywhere you need to reduce unwanted sound bleed the Pocket Sound Booth Oval does the job. It's the only ambience reducer that works on the back and all of the sides.

The model PSB- Oval replaces the square model PSB-448.
The Oval is slightly smaller and more aesthetically oriented, fits most hand held microphones without an extender, and fits most side address mics.
