The Triple Play is a
stereo playback system utilizing two 8030A 5"
bi-amp monitors and one
7050B 8" active LSE
subwoofer. Why use a sub-assisted system instead of two larger speakers? In rooms sized less than 3000 cu. ft. reproduction of low
frequency content is often compromised. Getting these important frequencies under control is among the most common challenges we face when working in these smaller environments.
The 8030A LF response extends to 55
Hz (-3
dB) and the wisdom of placing two devices in a small room that reproduce
bass lower than 55
Hz will often create unwanted cancellations due to placement and positioning requirements of the
main speakers. By adding a
subwoofer and correctly integrating it into both the
main speakers and the room, we can enjoy much smoother
bass response that extends lower than two larger speakers, and almost always at lower cost. It's just the right way to do things!
The Triple Play system delivers over 108
dB SPL (@ 1m) and provides articulate LF extension to 25
Hz. The
main speakers are easily stand or wall mounted and as with all Genelec products, versatile controls for correct acoustical room integration are provided. The Triple Play is a workhorse system that is correctly sized for many common work spaces and has a proven record of delivering accurate, natural sounding mixes around the world.
